Approximately 1 hour away from our apartments in Newbury, you will find yourself in the heart of London. With there being plenty to do and see in London, we have taken the time to write some information on various places to see across the city, starting with the museums.
There are some extraordinary museums across London, in this post we will be focusing on The Science Museum.
The Science Museum located on Exhibition Road in South Kensington is one of London’s major tourist attractions, attracting 3.3 million visitors every year. The museum features seven floors of entertaining and educational exhibits, The Science Museum explores the development of science and industry in Great Britain over the centuries, with an extensive collection from biochemistry and photography to meteorology and astronomy.
Here you will be able to explore a collection of over 300,000 items including the first jet engine, Stephenson’s Rocket, some of the earliest remaining steam engines and many, many more. You will also find an IMAX 3D Cinema at the Science Museum, showcasing science and nature documentaries in 3D. There are many interactive galleries which bring to life the first scientific principles and debates, you can even experience what it is like to fly with in an Apollo spacecraft and the red arrows in the state of the art simulators.
